Spiritual Mastery for the Coach

DEFINITION

Spiritual Mastery

There is a saying “We are spiritual beings living in a physical body.” In other words, we are spirit first and foremost. And we need a physical body in which to have experiences on this earth plane. Spiritual Mastery is simply applying ourselves to become self-realized and know who we truly are inside.

INSPIRATIONAL QUOTATIONS

At the centre of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.

- Lao Tzu

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

- Lao Tzu

Because the challenges will continue to show up in life, but if you have the inner strength -whether that be your faith, your determination or your incredible love for self, for God and for others—then I think you'll have the capacity to live a life that's extremely fulfilled.

- Tony Robbins

If you want to reach a state of bliss, then go beyond your ego and the internal dialogue. Make a decision to relinquish the need to control, the need to be approved, and the need to judge. Those are the three things the ego is doing all the time. It's very important to be aware of them every time they come up.

- Deepak Chopra

There are no accidents... there is only some purpose that we haven't yet understood.

- Wayne Dyer

Heaven on Earth is a choice you must make, not a place you must find.

Hi Everyone.

This month’s newsletter concludes our mini-series on Mind, Body, Spiritual Mastery for the Coach.

How many of you have experienced coaching complex cases?

In my history I have coached teenagers triple addicted to cocaine, heroin and methadone. I have coached folks with cancer, eating disorders, various diseases and multiple personalities. And I have often found my hands gripping my chair when the abusers would find their way into my coaching room.

Many times I would sit there and wonder “OK, God, what are you testing me on now?” As the developer of award-winning Mind, Body, Spirit Coach Training methodologies the Universe had to send these folks to me so that I could prove to myself that the coaching methodologies I had developed are important for the well-being of people who would normally find themselves only sitting in the therapist’s chair. What some of my Clients have found is that they often have greater success with coaching because it is so future focussed. In other cases, I would work in tandem with the medical doctors, therapists and psychiatrists as part of the Client’s ‘Wellness Team’.

This month’s topic of Spirit Mastery is one that is rarely talked about in our business. Yet, it is THE most important for several reasons:

1. Helping Professionals can take on the negative energies of their Clients and become seriously ill: True Story. A highly successful Business Coach for 10 years had been working within the oil and gas companies in Scotland. She came to Coaching and Leadership International Inc. to learn some advanced coaching skills. In the classroom she told us that she had been very ill for 2 years and had not been able to work. No one could help her. When she learned about unwanted negative energies sometimes taking up residence in our energy field, she finally knew what had been making her ill for the last 2 years. I worked with her privately for four sessions to identify and dissipate the energies that she had picked up while working in some of the negative corporate environments. She returned to great health. Today she is back working in corporate with the gift of knowing how to protect herself. Please remember this story and protect yourself. Helping Professionals such as Coaches, Lawyers, Doctors, Dentists and Therapists often get very sick from picking up the bad energies of their Clients. I have seen them become ill on both physical and emotional levels with suicide sometimes being their escape route. Read the article on Spiritual Mastery below and be safe.

2. Meditation is the ‘secret’ of all great Coaches: I remember the great spiritual leader, Supreme Master Ching Hai, telling a psychologist that people in his field were often making Clients worse because they were simply relying on their intellectual education to support their Clients. Supreme Master Ching Hai suggests that all helping professionals meditate at least 3 hours a day in order to bring in the highest wisdom and then guide their Clients with BOTH intellect and wisdom. I agree 100%. As Coaches we hold the hearts of our Clients in our hands. It is important that we honour such a great responsibility and meditate at length daily in order to access the best wisdom for our Clients. Three hours a day is a small sacrifice to pay for such a great offering to our Clients (and to ourselves).

Enjoy this special newsletter on Spiritual Mastery. We invite you to review the May and June newsletters now in order to completely follow the thread and keep yourselves healthy in Mind, Body and Spirit.

As one of the International Directors of the ECI you may email your comments to me at Betska@the-eci.org.

Deepest thanks goes to Anne-Marie McIntosh for her loving and enthusiastic partnership in creating this July newsletter.

Are all Scottish people such fun?!

May God bless you all.

Spirit Mastery

“At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want.” ~ Lao Tzu

“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, worry about the future, or anticipate troubles but to live in the present moment wisely and earnestly.” ~ Buddha

“Know ye not that the kingdom of God dwells within you.” ~ Christ

IMPORTANT NOTE FROM BETSKA:

Ascended Spiritual Masters such as Buddha, Christ, Mohammed and Krishna came to teach the people of theirtime how to connect to the ‘God’ within in order to live fully with great wisdom and to live safely in the arms of their higher power.

The information in this section is critical for your safety as a coach. I have been coaching for over 20 years and have conducted coach training for 15 of those years. During this time we have come to learn about how we can affect our own energy and how others can greatly affect our energy fields. When we understand quantum physics in terms of realizing that everything has a frequency, energy fields begin to make sense.

As mentioned in the opening letter, please pay special attention to point #4 below as it is vitally important to your well-being as a Coach.

1. Stay positive, see everything as gifts. Only read books, watch movies, listen to CD’s and partake in leisure activities which lift your spirit. Adopt the belief that there are no “problem people”. Certainly there are problem situations but never problem people. Instead, we could see them and ourselves as “learning people”. In other words, when we go into judgment of others, we can stop the judgment by simply working through “Hmmm. Everything happens for a reason. I wonder what each of us is learning here.”

2. Meditate daily – third eye meditation is preferred with a fully enlightened Living Master (vs a dead one). Just as a dead dentist can’t look after your teeth, only a Living Master can be of the greatest value to you since they live in the earth’s electro-magnetic field. Thus they can protect us and guide us to acquire the best possible wisdom for our Client’s. Such a gift to give our Clients. Meditation is what separates the mediocre coach from the superior coach. I invite each of us to become ‘superior’ in order to greatly grow the reputation of coaching as an industry.

3. Ask your Higher Power for assistance: Whether you are coaching with complex cases or every day issues/goals with your clients, remember to be loving and pray to your Highest Power to help you especially if you get stuck. Ask me how many times I have prayed?!

4. Cleanse your energy field of unwanted energies.
You know when you are in the company of people who energise you – you feel alive, uplifted, motivated. Likewise you know when you are in the company of those who drain you. We are extremely vulnerable to the energies of those around us. Make it your intent that unwanted negative energies (sometimes known as entities) will not bounce from your Clients to you and/or your loved ones (including animals) and your office or home. If everything has a frequency it makes sense that we can literally and energetically walk into someone’s energy field. Quantum physics is at play here of course.Counselors, psychologists, coaches, nurses, managers of people and all helping professionals can often get temporarily or permanently sick (emotionally, spiritually, intellectually and/or physically). I have many stories to tell about our students for example. Suicide rates are high with Dentists, Psychologists and Lawyers. One of the reasons could be that they aren’t severing the psychic connection between themselves and their Clients. Unwanted energies from their Clients may have made their way into the Professional’s magnetic field and can create havoc in their life. As a result that emotional energy builds and builds resulting in odd behaviour such as fuzzy head, defiance, disrespect, mistakes, doing illogical things and physical sickness. The solar plexus will often feel tight.

To cleanse your energy field:

  1. After each coaching session, wash your hands thoroughly and shake your hands vigorously (minimum of 7 times) to cut the psychic connection. Adding a few drops of lemon juice and salt to your scrubbing is also very beneficial.
  2. Some Coaches find it useful to go for a walk after a day of working with Clients. They will ask nature to cleanse any unwanted unconstructive energies from their being.
  3. There exists a cosmic law that says these entities are not allowed to park themselves in your magnetic field! Simply close your eyes and ask them to leave. They are often stubborn so be persistent.
  4. Remember to drink lemon water to cleanse unconstructive energies from your organs.

To cleanse your office/home office:
When coaching keep your windows open to allow the negative energies to leave. Cleanse the room with sage, frankincense, sweet tobacco, or sweetgrass which are all well known for their cleansing properties.

To cleanse your animals:
Animals are usually around to help us and others heal. They deserve to be treated with love and respect. We could thank them for all the work that they do with us. Rosie, as pictured to the right, was my Co-Coach for 13 years. (Isn’t she precious?)

She left this earth in April of this year and I am still mourning the loss of this 8 pound ball of love. Those of you who have pets will have noticed that when you are coaching your pet(s) will often curl up beside you or sit on your lap.

They are lending us their wisdom and unconditional love. On numerous coaching occasions I remember Rosie marching up to me and asking to sit on my lap. This was usually when I needed to ask the Client some important questions. As soon as she would sit on my lap, the questions would come. It took me awhile to figure this out but she was patient with her Mom! She was such a gift and at her memorial service, 65 tributes flooded in from around the world from family, friends and students who had come to appreciate Rosie’s enormous love. She was hugely instrumental in the development of CLI’s Power Coaching® with Mind-Kinetics® because she kept me calm and focussed. I was honoured that she chose us as her family.

Watch the behaviours of these beloved Co-Coaches in your home. If they throw up or have accidents, it is possible that they have picked up unconstructive energies. Ask the entities to leave and cleanse the animals as well with frankincense etc.

To keep their bodies clean after a walk add lemon juice to some water and using a face cloth clean their fur with this lemon water to remove pesticides and germs from their body and paws. They will lick their paws and use the lemon to cleanse their kidneys/liver.

One day I was telecoaching a Client who was 4,000 miles away. She had attended an event where she ran into some serious dark energies which were making her very confused (people do the wildest things sometimes!). Closer to the end of the coaching session when these dark energies were released, I saw Rosie literally jump a foot off the floor. Accompanying the jump was a very loud yelp. Having studied energies for a couple of decades I immediately knew what had happened. The Client’s dark energies had travelled 4,000 miles and jumped into Rosie. Some pets think it is their job to do this. They often can dispense with them on their own. In this particular case she needed some extra help.

Please protect your animal Co-Coaches. They are gifts from heaven.Be well! Be happy!May your Coaching business flourish and bring yougreat love and abundance.

Connect with Your Spiritual Life Purpose

Since our theme for July is Spiritual Mastery, it seems appropriate for us to discuss how we can grow out businesses when we deeply connect with our Spiritual Life Purpose.

Spiritual Life Purpose is often overlooked by the intellect. Yet, when we fully understand what we are here to do – we can relax knowing that our life has true meaning.

In other words, each one of us is valuable to the success of the planet as a whole.

No doubt many of you may have conducted this exercise on an intellectual level and that is terrific.

I invite you now to conduct it on a spiritual level.Go to www.CoachingandLeadership.com. Click on “Free Self-Coaching”. Once you register select “Life Spiritual Purpose” on the side bar.

With your Spiritual Life Purpose internalized, you can create your company’s Vision Statement and then your Mission Statement. Both the Vision and Mission will be a direct reflection of your Spiritual Life Purpose.

Dalai Lama’s 18 Rules for Living

No-one can deny that the Dalai Lama is one of the most spiritual leaders of our time. It is reported that at the start of the new millennium the Dalai Lama issued eighteen rules for living. Despite the fact that we are living in very challenging times it is interesting to note that these rules are universal in their application and that they transcend time. Irrespective of time, race, culture, religion, true wisdom has no barriers.

As coaches whose mission is to promote well-being in ourselves and our clients, we know that the Rules will resonate with every-one of you.

  1. Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
  2. When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
  3. Follow the three Rs:
    1. Respect for self
    2. Respect for others
    3. Responsibility for all your actions.
  4. Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
  5. Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
  6. Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.
  7. When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
  8. Spend some time alone every day.
  9. Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
  10. Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
  11. Live a good, honourable life. Then when you get older and think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
  12. A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
  13. In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
  14. Share your knowledge. It’s a way to achieve immortality.
  15. Be gentle with the earth.
  16. Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
  17. Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
  18. Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.

Your Questions Answered

Recently a very Senior Coach asked me to help her because she was hearing all kinds of voices in her head talking to her.

Some people would immediately jump to the conclusion that she was spinning out of control. Au contraire.

As we mature on the spiritual path, we often can begin to hear voices within us. The answer is to not pay attention to the “voices” inside of you because this could be the negative power speaking. It is important to know that because these voices carry emotion they come from the ego. Instead, listen to your intuition – ideas that flow naturally. This in terms of spiritual mastery is a must.

Submit your questions to the ECIs panel of experts by sending your questions to the editor.

The ICR

The International Coaching Register is for any individual who trades as a coach, who help individuals and/or organisations for example, establish a work life balance, manage stress levels and build communication skills amongst many other specialist areas.

Everyone who has qualified as a coach with a recognised coach training company should now take the opportunity to register. This will dramatically cut down on any misrepresentation that goes on within the industry. Many people have websites and call themselves a
coach but have no actual qualifications. The register will stop these people and raise the profile of genuine coaching and how it can transform people’s lives.

C.E.O. of the ECI Gerard O’Donovan said “the register has been administered by the ECI for the benefit of the world of coaching and coaching clients. It is also a great way for coaches to get business as members of the public can search for registered coaches in their area. It brings coaching transparency at last.”

Non ECI members can apply to join the ICR by clicking here.

Thought for the Month

Where has the Child In You Gone?

‘The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed. ‘ ....Einstein

It might seem to be a paradox but there is nothing as wise as a small child. Children see the world as an uncomplicated place in many ways. Things have a simple clarity that is lost as the years increase. Naivety and innocence give way to compromise, common sense, reality and pragmatism; qualities deemed necessary to succeed in the adult world. Conformity and convention sadly replace the magical qualities of adventure and wonder.

A child will see no reason why fairies, angels, Santa Claus and ‘imaginary’ friends do not exist. To a child, these things are not only possible, they are real. And because they are believed in, the results of that belief are also real. The simple acceptance that anything is possible in the great, wide world makes it so. There is a natural magic in children in their observation of life, - the lazy contemplation of an earthworm, the curiosity of why peas are green and the simple acceptance that people are painted in different colours.

Along the way we lose our child eyes and we can become disillusioned and cynical. The challenge is to find the child in us. The child essence is still there but we need to re-connect with the magic and the wonder.

I am sure I am not alone, when as an inconsolable 8 year old, I broke down in tears when it was revealed who Santa Claus really was. What a traumatic introduction to my ‘adult’ world. However looking at the world today with ‘child’ eyes and with a sense of awareness I now know that Santa Claus does exist in many ways, in many guises and that I don’t need to wait until Dec 25th for him to visit. When did he last visit you? Turn on your child eyes and you might just be surprised.
